Summer is officially here & the only thing on my mind is perfecting that summer time glow. I surely can’t be the only one… right?
When it comes to body oils, specifically shimmering ones, my main focus is whether they’ll also hydrate the skin whilst absorbing instantly. I personally prefer using oils during the summertime because I find that they’re so much easier to apply and you don’t have to spend time rubbing them into you skin like you do with creams.
Here are a few of my favourites below & why they’re perfect for summer!

Sol de Janeiro
A brand that I know a lot of you will be reaching for this summer! If you’re looking for a product that adds more than a little shimmer to your body then, you’ll love this. This Copacabana bronzing oil is basically like summer in a bottle. It adds a gorgeous bronze finishing to the skin which I found to be non-transferable considering how shimmery it is! It’s non sticky and can also be used as a highlighter on the face! I prefer using this product without moisturiser and onto clean dry skin as I find it absorbs better. If you need that extra bit of colour this summer, then try this!

Summer Fridays
A newbie to my collection! I was first introduced to this product whilst on holiday with a friend. After hearing her boast about it I just knew I had to try it! It’s a lightweight formula yet it’s jam packed with lots of hydrating properties. I love that it has a subtle shimmer which isn’t as intense as some others I’ve used but makes this perfect for everyday wear. If you’ve ever used any other Summer Friday products then you’ll know that the scent is divine – Summer Friday’s signature blend of coconut, vanilla blossom and warm almond! My go to for daytime wear!

Tom Ford
An iconic body oil that I’m sure everyone has probably heard about. Similar to the Summer Fridays oil, this is lightweight. It has a scent that is captivating and lingers on through to the night. I would say that this is ideal for wearing throughout the day as it gives a natural looking glow and reflects the sunlight. I love that it’s a spray on oil as its so much easier to apply and you can target the areas you want without any waste. It melts into the skin absorbing instantly and leaves your skin feeling silky and hydrated! I know this ones a splurge but you won’t regret it!
Nuxe
This is one of my holy grail body oils & one I have used for many years. In fact, it is one of my most used body oils all year round! Not only does it add a gorgeous glow to your body, it contains 98% of ingredients that are from natural origin and 7 botanical oils all of which contribute to leaving your skin moisturised and illuminated! This is a multi use dry oil so can also be used on the face & even hair! It absorbs pretty much instantly and smells divine! I use the 100ml bottles as they come with a spray making application that much easier. I cannot fault this oil nor its amazing price tag! Nuxe have now also released their Huile Prodigieuse Shimmering Florale body oil which leaves more of a pearlescent glow the skin. Spoilt for choice! Tell me about it.

Dior
Okay I might have just saved the best till last… Now I know this isn’t a body oil but just hear me out. After having searched high and low, I stumbled across this Dior J’adore Les Adorables golden gel. After my first application I was star struck. The gel is very fresh and lightly scented but leaves the most beautiful glaze on the skin – a little goes a long way! And to top that it also contains 24k gold pigments! Although this isn’t something I’d use for hydrating the skin I’d definitely be packing this for my summer vacays! It layers so beautifully with both oils and creams and it just makes you feel expensive!
