I just love Autumn. I don’t know what it is, but there’s just something about the change in season that gets me excited for everything new to come. Apart from switching out my summer wardrobe to chunky knits and fur coats, I’ve already started to plan my nail looks. I’ve rounded up five autumn nails trends that I know you’re going to love!

Burgundy
The classiest nail colour for autumn. It’s elegant, it’s demure and it so versatile. I particularly love it on a short nail with an ultra glossy top coat. It’s a shade I think you ought to try at least once. It will change your life. My all time favourite is of course the iconic Chanel Rouge Noir (formerly known as Vamp) that has been slaying since 1994. The polish has since had a makeover with a new and improved formula and brush to paint with. It’s a show stopper and the IT colour of the season.

Metallics
Manicures don’t always have to be plain. With that being said a manicure doesn’t always need to be over complicated either. Metallics are a great way to add that edge to a once very plain nail and it’s so easy to achieve! They are perfect for special occasions and even for everyday wear if you’re someone who enjoys a statement look. I like to apply a metallic powder over a gel nail for longer lasting results (I find that a nude or black works well for gold and silver).
Chrome
A trend that is here to stay. Adding a touch of chrome to your every day manicure can make a huge difference. In fact, I don’t think there’s a colour out there that chrome doesn’t pair well with. From nudes, to reds, browns and even green, this powdery substance will leave you gagging for more. It’s a subtle yet eye catching effect that looks good on all nail lengths and shapes. If you haven’t tried a chrome nail look, what are you waiting for?
Brown
It’s no surprise that the chocolate-y tones are taking over right now because there’s so many options to choose from. From the richer deep tones to the slightly cooler tones, there’s a shade match for everyone. I guess it depends on your personal preference. You can really play around with the colour brown because it’s the most versatile and timeless shade ever. It goes with everything from chunky knits, denim and even leather jackets. It will never go out of style.

Animal prints
Oh I am so here for this trend! Did you know that before fashion, animal prints were a sign of power and social status. Animal prints were on the rise in the 1930s and became mainstream because of the film Tarzan the Apeman. After that Christian Dior made leopard print a craze because he featured it in his 1947 collection. I personally love animal prints and think that the leopard print or even tortoise shell nails are a moment not to be missed when it comes to autumn nail choices. They can add that little extra flare to your personal style.
