Palma or as some may know it ‘mini Barcelona’ is the place to visit during summer. Just off main land Spain, the capital city of Mallorca is easily accessible from the UK with flights usually taking around 2 hours and 30 minutes. It’s full of rich history, culture and a touch of modern day extravagance. There is so much do to and see here in Palma so I’ve created a mini guide on what I think you’ll enjoy!

Where to stay
Hotel Posada Terra Santa – I got lucky finding this little gem of a hotel. It is about 15-20 minutes drive away from the airport and is located in the Old Town of Palma. What initially sold it to me was the beautiful architecture and interior design. Posada Terra Santa is a Gothic mansion converted into a luxury boutique hotel which has a rooftop terrace, spa and seasonal outdoor/ indoor pool. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Palma. If you’re looking for some peace and tranquillity amidst the chaos of Palma I highly recommend this hotel.

Where to eat
One thing I love doing when travelling is eating so when it comes to dining, Palma isn’t short of restaurants and cafes. I love booking the room only option for short trips like this as it gives me more of an opportunity to explore and try new places and cuisines. If it’s breakfast, brunch or even that romantic dinner spot you’re after, don’t worry I’ve got you covered.

Things to do/ Places to visit
There’s an endless list of things to do in Palma. My trip was 5 days long and although some would argue that it’s long enough for a city break, I honestly think I needed more time to be able to explore everything Palma has to offer. Here are some of things I loved during my visit.
Explore the Old town
The old town of Palma truly takes you back in time. From the cobbled streets to the magnificent buildings and monuments, there’s inspiration and beauty all round. If you continue walking you’ll end up at the boulevard of Passeig el Born, which felt like a mini version of La Rambla in Barcelona. There are lots of shops/ boutiques and even hotels hidden amongst the buildings. So if you fancy a spot of shopping or a bite to eat this is the place to be.
Visit the Beach
There are many picturesque beaches in Mallorca where you can sunbathe, relax and listen to the sound of the waves. If having sand between your toes isn’t your kind of thing, there are many beach front bars and restaurants where you can sit and enjoy a drink or two. I sadly only had the time to visit Playa Can Pere Antoni. It was approximately around 15 – 20 minutes walking distance from my hotel. I didn’t anticipate how busy this beach would get so if you’re someone who prefers a quieter spot you might want to explore a little further out.
Spend the day at a Beach club
If it’s a beach club you’re after then here is one I visited during my visit and would highly recommend – Purobeach. I absolutely loved everything about this place. I was instantly in awe at the serene white aesthetics and the amazing customer service. It’s a space where you can relax and enjoy the views or perhaps even have a bite to eat and vibe to the music. They even offered shisha if that’s your kind of thing (it’s definitely mine). I would suggest booking in advance to avoid disappointment as it’s not a place that has empty beds for long. You have the option of booking a bed around the pool (which we booked), facing Palma bay or the roof terrace. Purobeach is a great place to spend your last day in Palma as there are changing rooms for you to freshen up in and leave your things.
Another popular beach club to check out is Assaona. It was fully booked at the time of my visit so I didn’t get chance to check it out but I’m sure I’ll visit sometime in the near future!
Indulge in a massage
There’s no better way to end a holiday than visiting a spa. I honestly think some of the best massages I’ve had have always been abroad. I had managed to book a massage at the El Llorenc Hotel on the morning of my flight home which was an absolute dream. Upon arrival I was shown to the changing rooms where I received a robe, towel, slippers, shower cap and some Lelabo cosmetics. I booked a 60 minute restorative and de stress massage which I very much needed. I also had some time in the spa which was one of the highlights of my trip. The spa has a 14 meter long heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, ice fountain & more! I left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to visit again!
